Devusinh Chauhan, Minister of State for Communications, stated that there are currently 879 post office branches operating without mobile network or internet connectivity. These outposts are mainly located in regions with difficult geographical conditions, which makes establishing connectivity a complex task.

The government has taken steps to address this connectivity gap. The Post Office has engaged with the Telecommunications Department to extend mobile network coverage to these isolated post offices. A comprehensive plan has been launched under the 4G saturation project, aiming to provide 4G services to a total of 24,680 newly discovered villages across the country.

The project is scheduled to be completed on December 9, 2023. Notably, the initiative also includes upgrading existing 2G/3G sites to 4G service in 6,279 villages.
