He said that the murder of JeM commander Zahid Manzoor Wani, who was the wanted JeM commander, was killed along with his three associates, while another LeT militant was killed in an encounter at Charar-e-Shareef in the district. of Budgam. "In total, five militants, of whom four were killed in Naira, Pulwama and one in Budgam in the last 12 hours," he said. The IGP said that Zahid was in fact the head of JeM for all of Kashmir. "His brother was also a militant and is in jail," said the IGP.
Earlier, the Kashmir Zone Police had tweeted that five extremists were killed in an encounter that lasted for 12 hours late on Saturday and Sunday. In this, four have been killed in Pulwama and one in Budgam.
IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar was quoted as saying, "Five terrorists of Pakistan-sponsored terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed have been killed in two encounters during the last 12 hours."
These encounters were going on in the Naira area of Pulwama and Charar-e-Sharif in Budgam. IGP Kashmir has described it as a big success for the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
