Ground Report | New Delhi: 150 people abducted in Kabul; Around 150 people, mostly Indian nationals, have been allegedly abducted by Taliban fighters to leave Afghanistan amid the humanitarian crisis following the Taliban takeover, according to local media reports. The Ministry of External Affairs has not yet made any official statement on the matter and is trying to confirm the development.

According to reports, the abduction took place when more than 100 Indians and some Afghan civilians were on their way to the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul to exit the war-torn country.

After this whole matter came to the media, the Taliban has denied any such incident. Taliban spokesman Ahmadullah Wasiq said that news like kidnapping is completely false and baseless. Ahmadullah Wasiq told that the Taliban have safely brought people inside the airport from the second gate.

Indian Air Force evacuated 85 Indians

Earlier today, a C-130J transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force evacuated over 85 Indian nationals from Kabul. Sources said on Saturday that the plane took off from Kabul this morning and landed in Tajikistan to refuel.

Last week, IAF C-17 heavy-lift transport aircraft brought back around 150 people from Kabul, including Indian Ambassador Tandon, Indian diplomats, officials, security personnel, and some stranded Indians.

About 40 Kabul employees were also evacuated from the war-torn country in another flight. The evacuation process was carried out under challenging conditions as thousands of Afghans arrived at Kabul airport in desperate attempts to leave the country.

People are being evacuated in the midst of an emergency that arose thereafter the Taliban took over the capital of Kabul. On Tuesday, an Indian Air Force aircraft carrying 120 people, including the Indian ambassador and embassy personnel in Kabul, reached India from Afghanistan. On Monday, another C-19 aircraft brought about 40 people, including some personnel of the Indian Embassy, ​​from Afghanistan to India.
