Initially, a gunshot wound was found near his heart. Officials said Mir was stationed at the IRP 23rd Battalion at CTC Lethpora.

According to the preliminary investigation, the police officer had left his house to work in his paddy fields last night, where he was shot dead, Kashmir area police said on Saturday.
