Abhijit, an engineering student at Boston University, is suspected to have been fatally assaulted. He had commenced his studies at the university the previous year and resided off-campus with fellow students. Concern arose when he failed to return home on March 11, prompting his friends to report him missing.

The Times of India quoted family members saying that Paruchuri Chakradhar and Srilakshmi had only one child, Abhijit. They acknowledged him as a brilliant student from his childhood. Abhijit secured a seat at Boston University for his further studies, but his mother was reluctant to send him abroad. However, Abhijit managed to persuade his mother to allow him to study abroad after much effort. Recently, they found his dead body inside a car.

Attacks on Indians, particularly students, have skyrocketed tremendously in recent years, which is worth mentioning. This year marked the ninth incident in which an Indian student died in America. In January, they found 19-year-old Neel Acharya, reported missing earlier, dead on the Purdue University West Lafayette campus. Acharya held US citizenship.

The authorities stated there were no significant injuries or trauma discovered during Acharya's autopsy and no one suspects foul play at this time. In the same month, a homeless drug addiction in Georgia bludgeoned to death Vivek Saini, a 25-year-old Indian student. Another Indian student from Hyderabad, Syed Mazahir Ali, who is pursuing a Master's in information technology, suffered a brutal attack from three unidentified men in Chicago.

Numerous unnatural Indian deaths in the US

Recent attacks on Indian students in the US prompt US Ambassador Eric Garcetti to promise safety measures. Deaths like that of dancer Amarnath Ghosh, student Akul Dhawan (hypothermia), and Janhavi Kandula (hit by patrol car) highlight ongoing concerns.

Others like Sameer Kamath, Shreyas Reddy, Vivek Saini, Neel Acharya, and Vivek Taneja add to worries. The lack of criminal charges in some cases raises questions. The Biden administration's pledge for safety is crucial amid these tragic incidents affecting the Indian diaspora in the US.
