The news of Khan's marriage quickly spread, drawing local enthusiasts from neighboring areas to the bride's residence, where they gathered to catch a glimpse of the Mumbai cricketer and engage in interactions. Interestingly, the identity of Sarfaraz's wife has piqued the curiosity of fans.
According to information circulating on social media, the cricketer's wife is named 'Romana Zahoor'. The secrecy surrounding the wedding has spurred interest in knowing more about Romana and her connection with Sarfaraz Khan.
Sarfaraz started his love story in Delhi and soon after their first meeting, he decided to marry Romana. He uploaded his wedding picture along with his wife on his official Instagram account with the caption, "Alhamdulillah, I am married."
His wedding function took place in the Shopian district in Jammu & Kashmir, and soon after, he shared his wedding pictures and videos on various social media platforms. He received congratulatory messages from a number of Indian cricketers, including Suryakumar Yadav and Axar Patel, who replied to his Instagram post.
Who is Romana Zahoor?
Romana Zahoor resident of Pashpora village Shopian district in Jammu & Kashmir and married Sarfaraz Khan.
According to a report from NBT, the connection between Romana and Sarfaraz originated in Delhi. Romana, currently pursuing a BSC degree, came into contact with Sarfaraz through a shared connection – Sarfaraz's cousin, who happened to be Romana's fellow student.

The two crossed paths when Romana accompanied Sarfaraz's cousin to a cricket match. Following this initial encounter, it didn't take long for Sarfaraz to make up his mind about marriage. Sarfaraz's cousin revealed that their family approached the cricketer's household with a marriage proposal. Subsequently, both families reached a mutual agreement, paving the way for the marriage to proceed.
Wedding in Kashmir: Destiny fulfilled
"After my wedding on August 6, I firmly believe that it was destined for me to be married in Kashmir. The love I've received here has been immense, and I intend to visit this place whenever I can," Sarfaraz shared with a local news portal, reflecting on his recent marriage.
Addressing his absence from the Indian cricket team despite consistent performances in domestic cricket, the 25-year-old cricketer remained positive. He said, "Just as the Almighty orchestrated my marriage here, if it's written that I'll represent India, then I will."
Sarfaraz Khan has stood out as one of the most prolific batsmen in the domestic cricket arena over the last four years. His impressive performance in the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy season saw him score 556 runs in 6 matches, boasting an average of 92.66, supported by 3 centuries. In the preceding 2021-22 Ranji Trophy season, he notched up an impressive 982 runs with an average of 122.75.
