WHAT IS USCIRF?

The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) is an independent agency created by the 1998 International Religious Freedom Act (IRFA). This monitors the right to freedom of religion or belief worldwide. If they find a violation of policies by any country they issue recommendations to improve it.

Let us tell you that in very extreme conditions, economic sanctions are imposed on countries that violate religious freedom.

USCIRF believes that “Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship, and observance.”

(USCIRF) has already commented on religious freedom in India. This organization had warned India at the time of CAA NRC and Tabrez Ansari's lynching. However, the Government of India says that the observation of this institution is very one-sided.
