Who is Arunita Kanjilal, what is her story?

Arunita Kanjilal is an excellent Indian singer who won the Zee Bangla Saregamapa 2013 show. She also sings on reality shows like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa: Lil Champs in both Bengali and Hindi, Indian Idol Season 12 and Superstar Singer Season 2.

Following her musical dreams, Arunita was selected in the Indian Idol 12 auditions which aired on Sony Entertainment Television in 2021 and emerged as a finalist with Sayli Kamble. On the show, she won a lot of praise for her soothing and soulful voice. From classical to western, Arunita is performing amazingly on all kinds of songs.

Who is Arunita Kanjilal

Arunita Kanjilal was born on January 18, 2003, in Calcutta, West Bengal. She completed her education at St. Xavier's School, Kolkata. She is the daughter of Avni Bhushan Kanjilal and Sharbani Kanjilal. Her father is a teacher while her mother is a housewife.

Arunita began to train in classical training when she was four years old. Her initial guru was her maternal uncle and then she received further training from Ravindra Ganguly from Pune.

Arunita began her musical journey at the age of 4. She was inspired by her mother and decided to pursue her dreams of singing. At a young age, Arunita received her musical education from her mother, and later took lessons from Nandita Chaudhary. Arunita even learned music from her maternal uncle and on the Indian Idol show, she revealed that her uncle was her first teacher.

During her teenage years, Arunita also participated in the singing reality show Zee Bangla Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs in 2013 and won the show's grand finale.

This did not deter Arunita; In 2014, she competed in the singing reality show Saregamapa Little Champs, which aired on Zee TV, and her performance in the song Ae Mere Watan Ke Logo, originally sung by Lata Mangeshkar Ji, received a standing ovation from the judges and the public.

She also has her own YouTube channel, which she used to post the initial video for the patriotic song. Arunita has also put on an international stage show alongside Shaan Mukherjee, a well-known playback vocalist, and another contender, Gagan Gonkar.

She has performed on stages in Long Beach, Los Angeles, and Houston, among other cities. She has gained an international following as a result of all these stage plays, which were followed by a live show at Satara, which garnered a positive reception from the crowd.

Arunita emerged as the first runner-up in the difficult Indian Idol season 12 singing battle, which lasted for many months. Pawandeep, apart from Arunita, was the winner of the Indian Idol season 12 title. Sayli Kamble, Mohammad Danish, Nihal Tauro and Shanmukh Priya were named second, third, fourth and fifth runner-up, respectively.
