After NDTV was taken over by the Adani Group, Prannoy Roy announced his new project, ‘deKoder’. This is going to be a website and app that uses artificial intelligence to make complex global issues easier to understand. The platform will present information in 15 different Indian languages.
What is new startup deKoder?
‘DeKoder’ aims to break down complex global issues into easy-to-understand content for a wide range of audiences. The main goal of using artificial intelligence in this platform is to allow viewers to do their own analyses. The launch of ‘deKoder’ will happen in stages.
"'deKoder' is gearing up to become an AI-based website and app, ready to simplify complex global issues ranging from election analysis to world events. The platform intends to present this information in 15 different Indian languages to make it accessible."
Prannoy Roy in a video posted on YouTube said "I’m excited to share with you the launch of Decoder.com. It’s a new website and app that uses artificial intelligence. Its goal is to provide a wealth of information and data on elections and world events, including The World This Week. The unique feature of Decoder is its use of AI to help you analyze the information yourself. The launch of Decoder will take place gradually over the next few weeks and months. We hope that Decoder will be a powerful tool for you and that you’ll enjoy using it.
World This Week revives on deKoder
Prannoy Lal Roy is bringing back his popular show, “World This Week,” which was originally on Doordarshan. Initially, Doordarshan was hesitant to let private companies cover local news, so they hired NDTV to create a weekly global news program called “The World This Week.”
The show was an immediate hit with Indian viewers and had one of the highest viewership ratings on Doordarshan. Now, “The World This Week” is set to return, this time on DeKodar.
Prannoy Roy stepped down from NDTV
It’s important to note that on November 30, 2022, Prannoy Roy stepped down from his role as a director on the NDTV board. This happened after the founders issued shares to a unit of the Adani Group. Then, in December 2022, Roy sold 27.26% of his remaining 32.26% shares to the Adani Group. This made the Adani Group the largest shareholder of NDTV.
