Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya on Sunday credited Mamata Banerjee for the Trinamool Congress victory in the Bengal elections, saying her party would introspect on the election result.
However, earlier when the election trends started coming in the day, he said that it should not be considered a sign of the end result.
Kailash Vijayvargi had expressed confidence that his party would win these elections. Vijayvargiya also said that she received a call from Union Home Minister Amit Shah and talked to him about the party’s poor performance.
The senior BJP leader expressed surprise that BJP MPs Babul Supriyo and Lockett Chatterjee were trailing in their seats.
He said, “Trinamool Congress won because of Mamata Banerjee. It seems that people have chosen Didi. What wrong did we do, we will churn on it.”
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has wished West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her party’s victory in the state assembly elections.
Rajnath Singh said that my best wishes to Mamata Banerjee for her next term.
NCP chief Sharad Pawar also tweeted and congratulated Mamta Banerjee for victory.
He wrote on Twitter, “Congratulations on your great victory. Let us continue our work for the welfare of the people and to collectively deal with the epidemic.
Along with this, he also congratulated Pinarai Vijayan and MK Stalin.
He wrote in successive tweets, “Congratulations to Pinarayi Vijayan on his historic win in Kerala elections. We fought these elections together and now together we will fight the war against covid.”
For MK Stalin, who was ahead in the Tamil Nadu elections, he wrote, “MK Stalin completely deserves this victory.” I wish you good service to those who have shown confidence in you.”
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti has also congratulated Mamta Banerjee and TMC.
He tweeted, “Congratulations to Mamata Banerjee, Trinamool Congress, Derek O’Brien on their grand victory. Congratulations to the people of West Bengal for defeating the forces of division.”
