According to research by Condor Ferries, 84% of solo travellers are women. 72% of US female travellers surveyed have vacationed alone. Of the solo female travellers surveyed, 59% said they would travel solo again in the next 12 months.
Medina, the holy city of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, ranked first among the safest cities for solo female travellers, according to a study by InsureMyTrip, a UK-based travel insurance company.
According to the InsureMyTrip site, 84 per cent of solo travellers are women. To meet their needs, a study was conducted to learn the safest places for this vacationer population.
Before embarking on a solo adventure, it is important to keep in mind some precautions and tips to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience:

- Keep in touch regularly via messaging

The holy city turned out to be the safest city for solo female travellers with an overall score of 10/10. Medina ranked high in the sub-indices for the absence of gender-based attacks and feeling safe walking alone at night.
Remember that wherever you go, there is no such thing as a 100% risk-free trip, especially if you are a solo female traveler. According to the InsureMyTrip study, Chiang Mai in Thailand is the second safest city with an overall score of 9.06/10, and Dubai has been named the third safest city for solo female travellers with an overall score of 9.04/10.
Conversely, Johannesburg, Kuala Lumpur and Delhi have been ranked as the least safe cities for solo female travellers.
