The weather in Jammu and Kashmir saw a significant shift on Saturday as snowfall on higher reaches and widespread rains on the plains led to a drop in temperature and the closure of several roads. The Meteorological Department in Srinagar forecasts that the weather is likely to remain dry over the next 24 hours in the region.

Higher regions of the Kashmir Valley experienced snowfall, while the plains were lashed by widespread rains on Friday, resulting in a dip in temperature.

The inclement weather led to the closure of several roads, including Razdan Pass, Zojila Pass, Kishtwar-Anantnag Road, Mughal, Phirkiyan Gali, Machil, Sadna Top, and Srinagar-Sonamarg Road.

However, traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway and the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road, which connects Ladakh, was restored and is now plying normally.
