Ground Report | New Delhi: Taliban announces interim government; Afghan Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid has announced his government’s interim cabinet in Afghanistan after a three-week wait. Zabihullah Mujahid announced the new cabinet at a press conference at the Government Media Center in Kabul.

Zabihullah Mujahid while announcing the cabinet said that Muhammad Hasan Akhund will be the head of state while Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar will be the deputy head of state.
Zabihullah Mujahid said on the occasion that the country needs to work in one sector. He said that the Islamic Emirate had decided to announce a caretaker cabinet to work in the necessary sectors.
In the announced Afghan cabinet, Maulvi Mohammad Yaqum will be the Minister of Defense and Sirajuddin Haqqani will be the Minister of Interior. Zabihullah Mujahid will be the Deputy Information Minister in the new cabinet.
Islamic Emirate decided to announce the cabinet
Apart from them, Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi will be the Foreign Minister, Mullah Hidayat Badri will be the Finance Minister, Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa will be the Information Minister, Qari Din Mohammad will be the Economy Minister, Maulvi Noor Mohammad Saqib will be the Hajj, and Endowment Minister and Maulvi Abdul Hakim will be the Justice Minister.
Details of other members of the Afghan cabinet are as follows: Mullah Noorullah Noori Minister for Tribal Affairs, Sheikh Mohammad Khalid Minister for Invitation and Guidance, Haji Mohammad Issa Weser Petroleum, Mullah Hamidullah Akhundzada Weser Transport, Maulvi Najibullah Haqqani Minister for Intelligence, Haji Mohammad Idrees Patron Afghanistan Bank, Sher Mohammad Abbas will be the Assistant Foreign Minister.
On this occasion, Zabihullah Mujahid said that as we have seen that the country was in crisis and people were waiting for an institution and people’s problems to be solved. That is why the leadership of the Islamic Emirate decided to announce the cabinet.
