Dr. Dharampal said, "we want justice for Sonia PhD scholar, we requested higher authority for proper investigation in the suicide case. In India, there is no mutual understanding between facility and PhD Scholars and the reason is many PhD scholars are in phycological stress during their research tenure and they are struggling a lot in their daily life".

"The investigation process should be done impartially on behalf of CBI and the guilty should be punished and also request the government to make such laws in the field of research so that such incidents are reduced and there is a clean and healthy relationship among the researchers" he added.

He said that if the researcher is surrounded by all these tragic problems, then how will his mind be engaged in research work and how will he be able to do research work, the association informed about the suicide of Sonia Dabas through social media to make the research students of all the institutes of the country aware and on this a Facebook page.

He said that the research students do not get a healthy and clean environment for research, the mental level of the research students will also continue to decline. Students do not get all the necessary facilities like equipment, chemicals, and scholarships at the right time for their research-related work, due to which it becomes difficult for them to focus on research continuously.

further added that the research is a process, and it also takes time, but it involves hard work day and night of the research students and furthermore, the research students have to suffer mental and physical, financial, and sexual abuse.

Dr. Dharampal further said that we have already informed the high officials and ministers of that department of the country regarding the cases of suicide and there should have been a systematic investigation.

Apart from this, the All India Research Scholars Association started a campaign named #Stop_harassing_researchers, and demand justice for Sonia Dabas through Twitter.

One of the research scholars Santosh Kumar Rath, wrote on Twitter that "Due to Covid-19, research scholars are not even getting their fellowship regularly & also not allowed to Institutions as many are closed or within their guidelines. Hence time period of scholars is going to end which must be needed for extension of 1Y & fellowship on regular basis".
