The Meteorological Department has reported the presence of a cyclonic circulation at lower altitudes in northwest Madhya Pradesh and its surrounding areas. The Monsoon Trough, passing through Firozpur and Karnal, is positioned north of its usual location. It stretches up to 1.5 km above sea level in Badaun, Jaunpur, Begusarai, Berhampur, and then extends eastward to Manipur.
At the same time, the Western Disturbance is active in the form of a trough in the westerly winds at the middle levels.
Due to the weather conditions, the Meteorological Department forecasted heavy rainfall in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim today, August 22, exceeding 204.5 mm.
The Meteorological Department expects heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated parts of Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, and Meghalaya today. The rainfall in these states is predicted to range from 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm.
Today, heavy rain likely at some places over Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, East Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. Rainfall expected between 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in these areas.
Expect light to moderate rains in Himachal Pradesh and heavy rains with gusty winds in certain areas from August 22 to 25 in Northwest India.
Chances of heavy rains in Uttarakhand and East Uttar Pradesh: August 22-25. In West Uttar Pradesh: August 22-24.
Forecast: Heavy rains expected in Uttarakhand from Aug 22-24, torrential rains in Himachal Pradesh on Aug 23-24, and in West UP on Aug 22-23.

Whereas yesterday, rain or thundershower occurred at isolated places over Bihar, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, East Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Jharkhand, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and Gujarat .
1 cm at Dubri in Assam and Meghalaya, 2 cm at Bhubaneshwar in Odisha, 1 cm at Una in Himachal Pradesh, 2 cm at Ludhiana in Punjab, Moradabad in west Uttar Pradesh during 8:30 am to 5:30 pm tomorrow, 21 August In 1 cm, Chittorgarh in East Rajasthan received 1 cm of rain.
Yesterday, Kakinada and Machilipatnam in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam received 2 cm each, Mahabaleshwar in central Maharashtra 1 cm, Katra in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad received 1 cm, Naan Kaudi in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. and Port Blair recorded 2 cm of rain each.
