Earlier on Tuesday, the National Investigation Agency in Jammu and Kashmir conducted a search operation at 16 places and arrested four suspected militants.

An official told news agency PTI on Wednesday that the conspiracy of several extremist groups to carry out attacks in major cities and union territories, including New Delhi, has been exposed by the NIA. In this connection, the NIA registered a case on October 10 and started an investigation.

Four accused, Waseem Ahmed Sofi, Tariq Ahmed Dar, Bilal Ahmed Mir alias Bilal Fafu and Tariq Ahmed Bafanda were arrested on Tuesday during the search operations conducted at different places in Srinagar, Pulwama, and Shopian districts, an NIA spokesperson said. . All these accused were residents of Srinagar.

The NIA says that preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested accused were working for various banned extremist organizations, providing them help.
