In 2020, according to The Amazon Book Review , the most popular book of 2020 was the first "Harry Potter" book "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone " by J.K. Rowling. The reason for this was the long-standing love of fans for books and films about the little wizard, as well as the scandal with the writer, who was accused this year of transphobia due to her ambiguous statements.

The second line of the rating took Amazon book " Where the crayfish sing " (Where the Crawdads Sing) Delia Owens. The 2018 book combines two timelines that barely intertwine.

The third place was taken by Michelle Obama's book of memoirs " Becoming ". In her book, the woman spoke about her childhood, adolescence, meeting the 44th US President Barack Obama and life in the White House. The book quickly became a bestseller , making Michelle Obama one of the top three highest paid writers by Forbes at the end of 2019.

It is worth adding that the list of the most popular books also included an unpublished additional novel to the "Twilight" saga by Stephenie Meyer - "Midnight Sun", which tells the events from the point of view of Edward Cullen instead of Bella Swan. Also on the list is the book " And everywhere smoldering fires " (Little Fires Everywhere), which was the basis for the popular TV series of the same name with Reese Witherspoon in the lead role.
