A 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped and thrown into a tube well in the Mau district of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Saturday. Uttar Pradesh police have arrested two people and are looking for the third culprit.

The father of the alleged minor victim filed a complaint alleging that when his daughter went out to throw garbage on the morning of December 30, the accused took her away and gang-raped her.

"The victim was found in a tube well in an agricultural field, about 200 meters from her house, with his hands and legs tied and a cloth stuffed in his mouth," said additional SP Tribhuvan Nath.

He said an FIR was registered under the POCSO Act and the girl was sent for a medical examination. "Two of the accused have been arrested and the third will be arrested soon," added the officer.

Man arrested in Guj for repeatedly raping minor

In another case, the Junagadh police in Gujarat arrested a man for repeatedly raping a minor and impregnating her. Keshod Police Inspector D.B. Koli said that the accused Karsan alias Babu Malmer, 55, was arrested on Friday night and will be brought before a court on Saturday.

The incident only came to light on Thursday, when the 16-year-old victim complained of stomach pain and was taken to hospital. Koli said that when the doctor diagnosed her, the victim was found to be pregnant and also gave birth to a girl.

In their criminal complaint to the Keshod Police Station, the girl's parents claimed that the accused first raped her around nine to 10 months ago and threatened to kill her and her family if she did anything about it.
