Over the years, many prominent people in India have shared their views on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Some have praised him for his leadership skills and initiatives, while others have criticized him for his policies and actions. However, there are also some people who have changed their stance from praise to criticism.

Shatrughan Sinha – Actor and former BJP member

Shatrughan Sinha, a popular Bollywood actor, was a strong supporter of Narendra Modi and the BJP. He had even campaigned for the party during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

However, in recent years, Sinha has been critical of the Modi government's policies and decisions. He has been outspoken in criticizing the handling of the economy, demonetization, and the Citizenship Amendment Act.

Ram Jethmalani – Lawyer and former BJP member

Ram Jethmalani, a renowned lawyer and former BJP member, was a strong supporter of Narendra Modi's leadership. He had even defended Modi in the case of the Gujarat riots.

Jethmalani's views on Modi changed over time. He later criticized the Modi government for its handling of the economy, foreign policy and the Citizenship Amendment Act.

Satyapal Malik - former Governor of JK

Satyapal Malik served as the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir from August 2018 to October 2021. He has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership and policies. In 2019, Satyapal Malik said that Prime Minister Modi is the most popular leader in the country and he is doing a good job.

However, in 2021, Satyapal Malik criticized the Modi government's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Pulwama Attack, and farmers' protest.

Arun Shourie - Journalist and former BJP member

Arun Shourie, a prominent journalist and former BJP member, was once a supporter of Narendra Modi. He had praised Modi for his development initiatives and leadership skills.

Shourie's views on Modi changed after the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. He criticized Modi's government for its economic policies, handling of the Kashmir issue, and demonetization campaign.

Yogendra Yadav - Political Activist

Yogendra Yadav, a political activist and founder of Swaraj India, had initially supported Narendra Modi's campaign for the office of prime minister.

He later criticized the Modi government for its handling of the land crisis, the demonetization campaign and the Citizenship Amendment Act. Yadav has also criticized the government's crackdown on dissent and free speech.

Kiran Bedi – Former IPS officer and BJP leader

Kiran Bedi, former IPS officer and BJP leader, praised Narendra Modi for his vision and leadership skills. She had even campaigned for the BJP during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Bedi's views on Modi changed over time. She criticized the government's handling of the Delhi riots, its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and agricultural laws.

Arvind Kejriwal - Delhi CM

Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi and the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, was one of the prominent voices who initially praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's demonetization policy in 2016, but Kejriwal later reversed his position and criticized the implementation of the policy. He alleged that the move had caused widespread chaos and suffering for ordinary people, especially the people with low-income and marginalized.

Yashwant Sinha - former BJP minister

Yashwant Sinha, a former BJP minister and finance minister, initially supported Modi's policies, including the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and demonetization. However, he later became a vocal critic of Modi, especially regarding his handling of the economy.

In 2018, Sinha wrote an opinion piece titled "I need to speak now," in which he criticized the Modi government's economic policies and called for a change in leadership. Sinha also accused Modi of being authoritarian and controlling the media.

Shashi Tharoor - Congress MP

Shashi Tharoor Congress MP and former diplomat had initially praised Modi for his efforts to improve India's global standing.

However, he later criticized Modi's domestic policies, including his handling of the Kashmir issue and the Citizenship Amendment Act.
