Ground Report | New Delhi: Lakhimpur Kheri: Video; Truth about Lakhimpur is out. Viral video shows how the car of the Union Minister’s son ran over a protesting farmer. It is clearly seen that cars voluntarily killed farmers.
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi shared the video and asked, “Your government has kept me in custody for the last 28 hours without any order and FIR. Why this person who crushed Annadata has not been arrested yet? Why?”

Sharing this video, Congress wrote, “Modi government’s silence proves them wrong.”
In a press conference on Monday, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said, “The whole country is agitated by the incident that happened in Lakhimpur yesterday. The incident that happened was seen by all the people through the media to see how the farmers were being vandalized. Bullets were fired. Cars were burnt and vehicles were boarded. In fact, the Bharatiya Janata Party is doing these politics only after taking inspiration from the British.”

“They can go to any extent to suppress the farmers of the whole country, the example of this is the incident in Lakhimpur. Our demand is that the Minister of State for Home should be sacked first and the minister who went with him should also be sacked. Those who try to crush the agitating people should be arrested. Because this is not an ordinary incident. Rather it is clearly a case of murder and action should be taken by registering an offense under that section.”
On October 4, there were protests in many parts of the country over the death of farmers in Lakhimpur. Many leaders including Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were going to Lakhimpur Kheri, but the police stopped them before that. At the same time, when Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav was stopped, he sat on a dharna outside his house, after which he was taken into custody. Shivpal Yadav, Sanjay Singh, Satish Mishra, Jayant Chaudhary, and Chandrashekhar Azad were also stopped from going to Lakhimpur Kheri.
Two companies each of RAF and SSB have been deployed in Lakhimpur Kheri till 6 October. The government has announced Rs 45 lakh more jobs to the families of the 4 deceased farmers.
