Indore: DCP transferred after lathi charge incident on Bajrang Dal members

The process of transfers among various departments was started by the Home department in Madhya Pradesh on June 16th. The transfer was initiated by the signature of Anu Bhalavi, the Home Department’s secretary. Among the transferred is IPS officer Dharmendra Singh Bhadoria from the 2010 batch. Dharmendra has been posted as the commandant of the Rustamji Armed Police training college (RAPTC) in Indore.

Dharmendra was previously posted as the Deputy commissioner of police (zone 3) of the Urban Police in the Indore district. Due to this, IPS officer Yangchen Dolkar Bhutia from batch 2013 will not be in charge of the RAPTC anymore after Dharmendra is posted in her place.

Reason

According to a few reports, this transfer was followed after the lathi charge that took place at Palasia road on June 15th. Another officer, Sanjay Singh Bais, who was the officer-in-charge of Palasia police station was also transferred. The transfer took place after the members of the BJP and VHP took objections against the lathi charge.

Bajrang Dal goons were brutally thrashed by Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s police in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

Incident

On Thursday evening, members of the Bajrang dal staged a protest outside the Palasia police station against an FIR that was filed on one of their members. They claimed it to be a false allegation and a trap. The members demanded the withdrawal of the FIR. The protest soon turned violent.

A senior Police officer stated that the protest was causing a traffic jam and the members were asked to leave. However, the incident took a turn when stones were pelted at the police and in response force was used against the members. Due to the event, five police officers and eleven Bajrang Dal members were injured. Thus, a probe was issued into the matter by the Home Minister, Narotham Mishra.
