Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that hundred new Sainik Schools will be opened in India with private sector partnership. With this, a Central University will be opened in Ladakh.
Ujjwala scheme benefiting 8 crore families will continue. Its benefit will be extended to 1 crore more people. In the city gas distribution network, we will add 100 more districts in the next three years. The gas pipeline project will be extended to Jammu and Kashmir.
The government is set to double farmers' income by 2022. 63 thousand crores was spent on the purchase of paddy in 2013-14, which has been increased to 1 lakh 45 thousand crores.
This year, this figure can reach 72 thousand crores. 1.2 crore farmers had benefited from it last year, this year 1.5 crore farmers have benefited from it.
The government spent 33 thousand crores on wheat in 2013-14. 63 thousand crores in 2019 and now it has become 75 thousand crores. In 2020-21, 43 lakh farmers have benefited from this.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said in her budget speech that a provision has been made to increase FDI in insurance companies from 49% to 74%.
He has also said that one crore more beneficiaries will be included in the Ujjwala scheme.
Nirmala Sitharaman has said that "The IPO of Life Insurance Corporation will be brought in the year 2021-22, for which we are making necessary amendments in this session."
Disinvestment of State Governments Undertaking will be allowed
* Deposit insurance cover was increased from 1 lakh to 5 lakh. For this, I will propose to amend the law of 1961. This will benefit the depositors of those banks who are under stress.
* Allocation of 2217 crores to tackle air pollution
* 1,10,055 crore proposal for Railways. National Rail Plan 2030 is ready. There is a focus on Make in India. The Western and Eastern Freight Corridor will be ready by June 2022.
* There is an additional provision of 1,18,101 crore for the Road Transport Ministry.
* Deposit insurance cover was increased from 1 lakh to 5 lakh. For this, I will propose to amend the law of 1961. This will benefit the depositors of those banks who are under stress.
* Several announcements were made under the self-sufficient scheme. The government has approved this policy. This will pave the way for disinvestment in PSUs. The policy to be implemented in this direction is given in this budget. State governments will also be allowed to disinvest in their undertakings.
