SOG Additional Director General Ashok Rathod said that Hiralal Saini, who was the Police Officer (CO) of Beawar in Ajmer, was detained from a resort in Udaipur on Thursday night.
Information Technology Act, 2000
Cyber pgraphy is neither banned nor legalized under the IT Act, 2000. The IT Act prohibits the production and distribution of cyber pgraphy, but does not prohibit the viewing or downloading of pgraphy material if it is not child pgraphy.
Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 makes the following acts punishable with imprisonment up to 3 years and fine up to Rs 5 lakh. Section 67A of the Information Technology Act provides for publication, transmission and transmission and publication of any material containing explicit se*ual act or conduct which may be punishable with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to 5 years and with fine which may extend to Rs 10 lakh.
Child pgraphy
Section 67B of the IT Act, 2000 makes it illegal to publish, broadcast, view or download child pgraphy. According to section 67B, any person who has not attained the age of 18 years is a child.
