Himachal Pradesh gets its first Vande Bharat Express train which will run from Himachal's Amb Andaura to New Delhi which was signalled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Una.

The inaugural train run was opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Una on Thursday. This Vande Bharat train is an advanced version compared to previous ones as it is much lighter and capable of reaching higher speeds in less time, officials said.

Prime Minister flag off the inaugural run of the new Vande Bharat Express. Running from Amb Andaura to New Delhi, it will be the fourth Vande Bharat train to be introduced in the country and is an advanced version compared to the earlier ones, being much lighter and capable of reaching higher speeds in a shorter duration. It accelerates to 100 Km/h in just 52 seconds. The introduction of the train will help boost tourism in the region and provide a comfortable and faster mode of travel.

  • The Vande Bharat Express train will run six days a week except Wednesdays, with stops at Ambala, Chandigarh, Anandpur Sahib and Una.

  • The train will depart at 5:50 am from New Delhi and arrive at Amb Andaura railway station at 11:05 am.
  • On its return journey, the train will depart Amb Andaura at 1:00 p.m. to arrive in New Delhi at 6:25 p.m.

"Himachal Pradesh is a second home for Prime Minister Modi. Tomorrow the Vande Bharat train will depart from Una for Delhi. Due to the efforts of Prime Minister Modi, railway expansion has been carried out in Himachal Pradesh. Bulk is also being built. Drug Park," Union Minister Anurag Thakur said.

The semi-high-speed train uses the KAVACH (Train Collision Prevention System) to improve operational safety. In addition, there are four emergency windows in each carriage of the Vande Bharat train. In addition, it has four side cameras on the platform, including rear-view cameras outside the coach, instead of the previous two.

The first Vande Bharat Express was marked to run between Delhi and Varanasi. The country's first semi-high-speed train also stops at Allahabad and Kanpur. The second Vande Bharat train was introduced between Delhi and Shri Vaishno Devi Mata, Katra. Meanwhile, the third race between Mumbai and Gandhinagar.
