Covid: tussle between Foreign Minister Jaishankar and Congress leader Jairam Ramesh

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Jairam Ramesh, Environment Minister in the UPA Government, clashed with each other on Twitter for sending oxygen cylinders on behalf of the members of the Youth Congress at the Embassy of the Philippines in Delhi.

Jairam Ramesh had targeted Foreign Minister S Jaishankar in a tweet on Saturday.

Jairam Ramesh wrote in his tweet, "I thank the Youth Congress, but being an Indian citizen, I am surprised to see that the opposition wing's youth wing is reaching a difficult time even in the foreign embassy." Is the Ministry of External Affairs asleep? ”With this tweet, Jairam Ramesh also tagged External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.

Jairam Ramesh tweeted a video of Youth Congress President Srinivas with this tweet. Srinivas tweeted the video and wrote, "Youth Congress members at the Embassy of the Philippines in New Delhi." In this video, Youth Congress workers have arrived with oxygen cylinders.

On Sunday, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar responded to Jairam Ramesh's tweet, writing, "The Ministry of External Affairs contacted the Philippines Embassy and found out. 

There is needless supply because there is no case of corona there. You know who is doing all this for cheap popularity. It is wrong to distribute oxygen cylinders in this way while the needy people are upset."

On Saturday, 3,92,488 new cases of covid infection have been reported across the country and in the last 24 hours, 3689 people have died and 3,07,865 people have been discharged from the hospital.

At present, there are 33,49,644 active cases of infection in the country, this data has been released by the Ministry of Health on Sunday.

Cases of total infection in the country have reached 1,95,57,457 and so far 2,15,542 people have died from this virus.

At the same time, 1,59,92,271 people have also been cured of the infection. So far, 15,68,16,031 people have been vaccinated in the country amid rising corona cases.
