Twenty seven fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday taking the tally of total number of positive cases in the UT to 666. Officials said, that out of 27 new cases 06 were tested positive at SKIMS Lab, 19 were tested positive at CD hospital Lab and two were tested positive at GMC Jammu

Among the new 25 cases in Kashmir division, 15 are from Srinagar, 04 from Anantnag and 03 each from Baramulla and Shopian. Dr G H yatoo Nodal officer at SKIMS said that out of 613 samples tested, 06 were found positive, adding that among them 03 are from Baramulla while as three are from Shopian.

Dr Saleem Khan Nodal officer for covid-19 at GMC Srinagar said that out of 470 samples tested, 19 were tested positive, among them 15 are from Srinagar and 04 from Anantnag.

He said among 15 from Srinagar, 5 belong to single family of Batpora Rainawari tested positive on saturday, 10 were tested positive on Friday night including 8 from Jogi Lanker Srinagar, one from Narwara, who has a travel history of Delhi and other is an employee of LD hospital who was already on sick leave.

Officials from Srinagar said that among 15 new cases is a nursing orderly working at Lal Ded Hospital, a 31 year old man from Narwara and among the 8 contacts of deceased Lady of Jogi Lanker Rainawari, 5 are male with aged 8, 21, 28, 40 and 50 years while as three are females aged 25,35 and 40 years respectively News agency KNO reported.

Nursing orderly is from Jammu and is presently living in Solina Srinagar, they said adding that his contacts including his roommates and colleagues have been put under quarantine.

Officials from Anantnag said that out of four new cases two are Tailwani Achabal with ages 28 and 46 while as two are from Larnoo with ages 3 and 6 years (both male).

Officials from Shopian said that out of 114 samples tested on Saturday, three were found positive and all of them belong to Hirpora village where so far 52 positive cases have been reported.

Medical superintendent at JVC Bemina Dr Shifa Deva said that at present 96 patients are under going treatment while as 51 patients have been discharged so far from JVC.

Moreover two persons were tested positive in Samba area of Jammu taking toll of total positive cases in Jammu to 60.

Total number of positive cases in district is now six with four recoveries adding that among new cases one has travel history of Delhi and other has travel history of Mumbai

Pertinently with new 27 cases, the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 666 including 60 from Jammu and 606 from Kashmir division.

As per officials figures 128 positive cases including one death and 36 recoveries are from Bandipora, 99 positive cases including one death and recovery are from are Anantnag, 106 including two deaths and 69 recoveries are from Srinagar, 88 including 26 recoveries and 3 deaths are from Baramulla, 77 including 19 recoveries are from Shopian, 55 including 21 recoveries are from Kupwara, 21 including 11 recoveries are from Budgam, 14 with all fourteen recoveries are from Ganderbal, 11 including 03 recoveries are are from Kulgam and 07 including 03 recoveries are from Pulwama.

In Jammu division, all 26 patients have recovered in Jammu district , 20 including one death and 17 recoveries are from Udhampur, 6 with four recoveries are from Samba and 4 including three recoveries are from Rajouri , one from Kishtiwar who has also recovered and one each active case from Ramban, Kuthua and Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 74,083 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while as 9816 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 404 persons are in hospital isolation while as 188 persons are under hospital quarantine.

According to the bulletin, 56,493 persons have completed surveillance period and 7,174 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 23,460 samples are available.

Out of 23,460 the number of samples tested negative stands at 22794 while as 666 have been tested positive, among them 404 are active and 254 persons have recovered and 8 persons have died.
