West Bengal elections to be held in eight phases
Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora on Friday announced the dates for the assembly elections for West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry. Out of these five states and union territories, only the Bharatiya Janata Party government is in Assam.
Voting in West Bengal to be held in eight phases
First phase - 30 assembly seats, notification will be released on 2 March. Last day of nomination on 9 March, voting date 27 March.

Second phase - 30 assembly seats, notification will be issued on 5 March. Last day of nomination on 12 March, voting date 1 April
Third phase - 31 assembly seats, notification will be issued on 12 March. Last day of nomination on 19 March, voting date 6 April
Fourth Phase - 44 Assembly seats, notification will be released on 16 March. Last day of nomination on 19 March, voting date 10 April

Fifth Phase - 45 Assembly seats, notification will be released on 23 March. Last day of nomination on 30 March, voting date 17 April
Sixth phase - 43 assembly seats, notification will be released on 26 March. Last day of nomination on 3 April, voting date 22 April
Seventh phase - 36 assembly seats, notification will be issued on 31 March. Last day of nomination on 7 April, voting date 26 April
Eighth phase - 35 assembly seats, notification will be issued on 31 March. Last day of nomination on 7 April, voting date 29 April
Voting in Assam will be in three phases
First Phase - 47 Assembly seats, notification will be released on 2 March. Last day of nomination on 9 March, voting date 27 March

Second phase - 39 assembly seats, notification will be issued on March 5, last day of nomination on March 12, date of voting, April 1
Third phase - 40 assembly seats, notification will be released on 12 March. Last day of nomination on 19 March, voting date 6 April
Polling for all assembly seats in Kerala will be held in one phase.
The notification will be released on March 12. Last date of nomination on 20 March, voting date 6 April
Polling for all assembly seats in Tamil Nadu will be held in one phase.
The notification will be released on March 12. Last day of nomination on 19 March, voting date 6 April
Polling for all assembly seats in Puducherry will be held in one phase.
The notification will be released on March 12. Last day of nomination on 19 March, voting date 6 April
Counting of votes in all states will take place on 2 May.
The tenure of the government in Assam is till 31 May 2021 and there are a total of 126 assembly seats.
The tenure of the government in Tamil Nadu is till 31 May 2021 and there are a total of 234 assembly seats.
The tenure of the government in West Bengal is till 24 May 2021 and there are a total of 294 assembly seats here.
The tenure of the government in Kerala is till 1 June 2021 and there are a total of 140 assembly seats.
The tenure of the government in Puducherry is till 8 June 2012 and there are a total of 30 assembly seats here.
