In the list of Lok Sabha candidates released by BJP, names have been announced for 24 seats of Madhya Pradesh. This time Sadhvi Pragya's ticket has been cut from Bhopal seat and former mayor Alok Sharma has been fielded in her place.

Who is Alok Sharma?

Alok Sharma was made the MLA candidate from Bhopal North by BJP in the 2023 assembly elections but he lost the election. He has been the former mayor of Bhopal and is the state vice president of the party. He is one of the most active leaders of the party and is liked a lot by the BJP leaders. Alok is a leader of Hindutva identity. In the last elections, one of his statements made at Javra, Ratlam was in the headlines in which he had said

"I want to tell the Muslim brothers that you will not vote. Mian, do not vote, but accept from your heart that the house in which you are living has been given in the Prime Minister's scheme. He said that Mian brother, do not vote for BJP, but don't even go to vote."

About Alok Sharma

Alok Sharma is 57 years old and is associated with the agriculture sector. His total wealth is more than Rs 8 crore. Sharma did B.Com from Bhopal University in 1987. Four FIRs have been registered against him, in which Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant-IPC section 188, Punishment for wrongful restraint IPC section 341, Punishment for Rioting IPC section 147 and Case registered under section 149 (Every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offense committed in prosecution of common object IPC.) Alok Sharma owns a Maruti Swift.

Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur has been a controversial leader. Her statements have embarrassed BJP many times. Prime Minister Modi himself had said on Pragya's statement that he would never be able to forgive her from his heart. Along with this, Sadhvi Pragya remained mostly inactive as MP, bus stops were named after her at various places as election dates approached. However, neither did she have any vision for the development of the area nor could she ask any good questions in the Lok Sabha. In the 2019 elections, she defeated Digvijay Singh because of the Modi wave.
