Why Ram Charan and Upasana don’t want to have children?

Actor Ram Charan's wife, Upasana Kamineni Konidela, who is an entrepreneur and philanthropist said the couple does not want to have children to control the population. The couple recently celebrated ten years of marriage.

She recently broached the subject again in a conversation with spiritual leader Sadhguru, where he asked why people "consider it their duty to question their ability to reproduce."

In an interaction with Sadhguru at the 17th ATA Youth Convention & Conference earlier this week, Upasana asked him a bunch of questions. At one point, Upasana said that she wanted to ask him something personal. Throwing in a reference to her husband's recent RRR success, she later said, “I've been very happily married for 10 years. I love my life, I love my family, but why do people consider it their duty to question my RRR?

Upasana went on to explain what she meant by RRR when she said, “RRR is my relationship, my ability to reproduce, and my role in my life. There are so many women like me who would want an answer to this.”

In his reply, Sadhguru said he would leave the relationship out of this, but he talked about the second R: reproduction.

He said: “If you stay like this, without reproducing, I will give you a prize. I have already announced an award for all those young women who are healthy and able to reproduce but choose not to. This is the greatest service you can do right now."

"This is not an endangered species. There are too many of us. We are heading towards 10 billion in the next 30 to 35 years. Man is worried about the carbon footprint, but if the human footprint is reduced, there is no need to worry about global pollution. warming up too. So, it's good to see women who chose not to reproduce." To this response, Upasana replied, "I would make you talk to my mother and mother-in-law very soon."

In another interview with News18, Upasana shared, “I am petrified to be a mom, there is never a right time. But my friends have been great examples and now I've done some research so maybe it'll be soon. It's a good thing there is so much speculation about our child even before he is conceived, let alone born! My friends have called me to let them know when I'm pregnant so they can launch a birthing line for us."

In her Instagram post, Upasana captioned footage of her interaction with Sadhguru, "Absolute honour to be in conversation with Mystic. Sadhguru was amazing as always, every topic made so much sense. Truly practical considering the circumstances facing the world today!" A must-see! Sadhguru: Thatha won't let me accept your award."
