Who is BJP leader Mohan Jat accused of raping a woman?

A leader from the BJP Mohan Jat and five others have been accused of raping a 45-year-old woman and harassing her young daughter in Rajasthan's Pali district.

Police said that they identified the accused as BJP district general secretary Mohan Jatt and party leader Mahesh Chandak.

The accused were lodged with a first information report (FIR) on Friday. Sojat City circle officer Mrityunjay Mishra provided details, stating, “Once her and her daughter’s medical examination report comes, the allegation will be ascertained. We are currently conducting a probe into the matter.”

"The FIR states that one Mohan Jat asked the complainant to come and see a plot (of land) on August 24. As per the complainant's statement, she was later allegedly raped by Jat and some of the other accused.

The SHO of the police station in Pali, where the case was lodged, mentioned that apart from Jat, three women and another man, as well as an unknown person, have been named as the accused. Additionally, the SHO revealed that the woman claimed Jat possessed photos of hers which he had allegedly taken previously."

Circle Officer (Sojat City) Mrityunjay Mishra, citing her complaint, said that Jat met the victim a month ago regarding a deal for a plot on a residential project. Jat and Mahesh Chandak allegedly raped the woman and molested her teenage daughter. It is alleged that two women were also involved.

The BJP leader Mohan Jat, who holds a position as the district general secretary in Pali, denied the allegations, calling them untrue. The incident is said to have occurred on August 24, and a case was registered by the police the following day.
