Ground Report | New Delhi: Journalist threatened Wriddhiman Saha; Wriddhiman Saha on Saturday shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp chat between himself and a journalist on Twitter. The senior Indian wicketkeeper was upset and shared the screenshot as he did not like the tone in which the journalist asked him to interview him.
In the screenshot shared by Saha, the journalist can be seen trying to persuade Saha for an interview. However, Saha did not respond. As Saha's interview with other news media went viral, he received threats saying that he never received his call and that he did not take insults lightly. 'It was not something you did'.
Saha shared the screenshot with the caption, "After all my contributions to Indian cricket…this is my encounter with a so-called "respected" journalist! This is where journalism has gone."
As expected, the Indian cricket community came across as an ally of Saha, who has been serving the national team for quite some time. The Bengal wicketkeeper also got support from Sehwag, who tweeted that the journalist felt a sense of entitlement.
“Extremely sad. Such sense of entitlement, neither is he respected nor a journalist, just chamchagiri. With you Wriddhi.”
After Wriddhiman Saha's sensational tweet revealing the threats received to him by a journalist, netizens started speculating about the identity of the person who was involved in such an act.
Social media users expressed their anger against the journalist for insulting a senior cricketer. He took a wild guess saying that it was journalist Vikrant Gupta or Boria Majumdar who threatened Wriddhiman Saha.
