The initial sneak peek of the much-anticipated film 'Jawan', directed by South Indian filmmaker Atlee and starring the iconic Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan, is absolutely mind-blowing. Fans of both the director and the actor have anxiously awaited a glimpse of this movie for quite some time, and based on the preview, it appears that Shahrukh will be portraying a refreshingly unique character unlike anything we have seen before.
Plot
Based on the trailer, Shahrukh Khan's character appears to be enigmatic and driven by a desire for revenge from his past. It suggests that he may have been born in a prison and subsequently joined either the Indian Army or Navy. It is possible that his mother was imprisoned for a crime, which could explain why he has gathered a group of women to support his vendetta. In the preview, they seem to be hijacking a metro, possibly as a means to negotiate for their demands.
It would be interesting to see the interactions between Shahrukh Khan, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupati.
Reasons for delay
The film's delayed release can be attributed to its exceptional visual composition, which is nothing short of spectacular. Shahrukh Khan's versatile performance showcases at least three distinct looks, while the action sequences are grand and impressive. To be honest, it surpasses the star's previous release Pathaan. The film includes a higher number of visually stunning shots incorporating VFX as compared to Khan's last film.
Red Chillies Entertainment displayed their commitment by actively recruiting additional talent to ensure timely completion of the project. However, despite these efforts, the film experienced a delay. Nonetheless, after witnessing the preview, it becomes evident that the wait was absolutely worth it.
About the film
Apart from Shahrukh Khan, the film will also feature Nayanthara, who will be playing the role of a cop according to the preview. Additionally, Vijay Sethupati will star as the main villain, while Priyamani, known for her role in Amazon Prime's The Family Man, will be part of the gang led by Shahrukh Khan's character. The film will also include glimpses of Sanya Malhotra as a scientist and a special appearance by Deepika Padukone in an action avatar. Furthermore, there will be cameos from South Superstar Vijay and Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt.
The music for this film is composed by the young sensation Anirudh. I am particularly excited for the background score, as Anirudh's previous work on Kamal Hasaan's Vikram was widely loved and appreciated. Interestingly, reports suggest that even AR Rahman, renowned for his musical genius, declined the opportunity to score this film."
The film is scheduled to release on September 7, 2023, in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.
