Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna, best known for playing Bhishma Pitamah and Shaktimaan on hit TV shows, recently came under fire for his sexist commentary on women. Mukesh recently uploaded a video to his YouTube channel, Bheeshm International, with a caption that read: 'Kya aapko bhi aisi ladkiya lubhati hain?
In the video shared on his Instagram, Mukesh Khanna can be seen talking about lewd posts on social media. He said that a person should be careful not to be swayed by random online accounts where they can be persuaded to send their nude photos and then use them to blackmail them for money.
Mukesh said in his video Koi bhi ladki agar kisi ladke ko kahe ‘I want to have sex with you’, wo ladki, ladki nahi hai, wo dhanda kar rahi hai. Kyunki is tarah ki nirlaj baatein koi sabhya samaj ki ladki kabhi nahi karegi (If any girl tells a boy that she wants to have sex with him, she is not a girl, she is a sex worker. Because a decent girl belonging to a civilised society would never say such things).”
During his tirade in the original video, Mukesh also called on the women to stay within "boundaries" and respect traditions. The actor was idolized by a whole generation of kids in the '90s, many of whom are now horrified by his comments. Comedian Aditi Mittal commented on a snippet of the video posted by a Bollywood-focused Instagram account, "Shakti (ap) maan." Another person commented, “It ruined my childhood.” A third person wrote: "Shakti and Maan both went to play." Other comments were not so polite.
Mukesh Khanna has often garnered attention for online videos of him. Previously, he criticized Kapil Sharma claiming that his show is vulgar. He even commented on Saif Ali Khan's statement about the representation of Ravana and the justification for Sita's kidnapping. Saif issued an apology for his controversial statement. Mukesh Khanna took to Instagram and released a new video in which he discussed the Saif Ali Khan controversy and said that a simple "sorry" is not enough.
