The son of the BJP leader in Madhya Pradesh has been named among four accused of gang-raping a woman in the Datia district of Madhya Pradesh.

According to reports, not only did the four accused sexually assault the woman, but they also preyed upon her younger sister. As news of this horrific incident spread, protests erupted in the area, as concerned relatives and neighbors rallied together, demanding swift and decisive action be taken against the accused individuals.

According to NDTV, the two accused individuals were apprehended following the protest. It is worth noting that the alleged incident took place within the precincts of the Datia Assembly constituency, which falls under the jurisdiction of Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra.

“One of the victims tried to kill himself by hanging. She was rushed to a hospital where she is under treatment. All the accused of the Unnao Police Station area,” the report said.

As per the complaint, the individuals were intercepted by the accused while they were returning home from school on Friday around 2:00 p.m. They were forcefully transported to a residence belonging to one of the suspects, where the 17-year-old endured a sexual assault, while the older sister was subjected to gang rape.

When the two sisters arrived back at their residence, fear overwhelmed them, causing them to remain silent. However, it was the younger sister of the survivor who bravely disclosed the incident to their parents.

Following the family's complaint, the authorities facilitated the transfer of the sisters to a hospital in Jhansi. Despite the need for hospitalization, the victim of the heinous gang rape is presently in a stable condition.

Datia SP Pradesh Sharma said, the doctors expect her to be discharged soon. However, locals expressed their dissatisfaction with the delayed filing of an FIR by the police, prompting them to protest near the Unav police station at around 9:30 p.m., demanding immediate action.

Police Chief Yadvendra Singh Gurjar of Unav Police Station announced on Sunday that two minors have been detained, and one adult suspect has been arrested, while the fourth individual remains at large. Additionally, a reward of Rs 10,000 has been established to apprehend the culprit, as stated by Chief Gurjar.

"The son of a local BJP official, who is underage, has been detained in connection with the case, as stated in the First Information Report (FIR). When questioned about this development, Surendra Budholia, BJP District Chairman, expressed regret over the incident and highlighted that the police have not yet obtained the victim's testimony."

Budholia added that if the victim mentions the name of the BJP official's son in her statement to the police, then the party will send him a notice and then take further action.
