Ground Report | New Delhi: Attack on Ukraine; White House National Security Adviser Jack Sullivan said on Sunday that Russia could launch a conflict and attack Ukraine "any day" at a "huge human cost".

President Joe Biden's senior adviser issued the stern warning a day after US officials confirmed that Russia had amassed at least 70 per cent of its military strength. The goal is to give President Vladimir Putin the authority to launch a full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the middle of this month.

According to the Associated Press (AP), Jack Sullivan said: "If war breaks out, Ukraine will have to pay a heavy human price, but we believe that based on our preparations and our response, Russia will Will have to pay a strategic price.

Speaking on three talk shows on Sunday, he did not comment directly on reports that the White House had informed lawmakers that a full-scale Russian invasion could lead to the immediate capture of the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, and possibly There could be 50,000 deaths.

U.S. officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, gave indications that Russian President Vladimir Putin intends to launch an attack on Ukraine in the coming weeks. Can't be fatal.

However, officials have insisted that a diplomatic solution is possible. These military indicators include an exercise by Russia's Strategic Nuclear Forces, usually held every autumn, which was rescheduled from mid-February to March. US officials see the move as the most likely time for an attack.

The US administration has in recent days raised the alarm that Russia is expected to advance on Ukrainian territory.

Last week, the Biden administration said, based on intelligence findings, that Russia had planned a large-scale counterfeit attack by Ukrainian forces, which Russia could use as a pretext for military action against its neighbour.

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said Thursday that the scheme involves presenting a graphic propaganda video, which will show fake explosions and use actors and corpses to portray mourners.

According to the White House, Biden and Macron spoke on the phone on Sunday to discuss "diplomatic efforts in response to Russia's continued military build-up on Ukraine's borders."

Sullivan expressed confidence that the operation of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline from Russia to Germany would "not move forward" if Russia invaded Ukraine further. The construction of this pipeline has been completed but the supply of gas has not started yet.

He said that although it was true that Germany had not sent arms to Ukraine, it was the second-largest donor to Ukraine in Europe after the United States. "The great thing about the nature of our alliance with NATO's 30 allies is that different allies are going to tear it apart," he said.
