So, basically what happened was, after a tweet from @LuckyHeronSay asking people, “Which famous person, that you hadn't known personally, did you feel most grief for when they died?”

People started responding with names of various celebrities, and public figures. One of the consisently re-iterating name was of “Alan Rickman”, among other personalities. 

Queen Elizabeth's demise was an unfortunate event, and respects were pouring from all parts of the world. Such degree of condolences are rarely witnessed. And, Alan Rickman was also one such figure for people across continents.

About Alan Rickman

Alan Rickman, one of the most loved and cherished English actor. He was popularly known for his role of professor “Severus Snape” in the Harry potter film series and “Hans Gruber” in Die hard. He passed away at the age of 69, after a battle with cancer on 14th January, 2016.

Alan Rickman was immensely loved for his acting, and his languid voice. His demeanour presented him to be a serious; stern individual. On the slip side, he had some out of the world sense of humour.

The British-actor became popular United States, and across the world through Harry Potter movie franchise. Interestingly, Harry Potter franchise was filled with British dramatic royalties.

Beyond his popularity in movies, he continued his great work in the British theatre.

In 2014, Alan Rickman had met Queen Elizabeth II, on February 17, 2014, at a Reception for the dramatic arts, hosted by Her Majesty (patron of the organization) and the Duchess of Cambridge at Buckingham Palace.

He talks about the same in mentioned twitter video, in his distinct humour.

The occasion was to celebrate 60 years of Queen's patronage for Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

Alan Rickman is said to have turned down a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire), though he never publicized his reason for the same.
