Sanket Upadhyay will soon resign from his position as the network’s consulting editor at NDTV after working for four years. He announced on X that he will soon change his professional address.

Upadhyay took to his social media account on X to announce his departure from NDTV. Expressing about his soon ending career stint at NDTV, Upadhyay wrote, "My exciting second stint in NDTV will soon come to an end. This one is special."

"I will soon end my thrilling second stint at NDTV. This one was unique. I will have a new professional address soon," he tweeted.

Who is Sanket Upadhyay

Sanket Upadhyay is a prominent Indian journalist and news anchor. He was born on July 16, 1982, in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. He attended Delhi Public School, Noida for his formal school education from 1991 to 20001. In 2003, he earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Journalism from Delhi University.

He began his career as a Staff Writer at Hindustan Times in August 2003 and worked there until August 2005. He then joined NDTV as its Correspondent in August 2005 and worked there until October 2007. Sanket has also worked with NewsX, Headlines Today, TV Today, Aaj Tak, and TIMES NOW Bennett, Coleman and Co. Ltd. (Times Group).

In February 2014, Sanket Upadhyay began working with TV Today in Noida as a Senior News Editor and served in the position until July 2016. At TV Today, he was given additional charge of Head of Output operations and used to host the morning Prime Time show – First Up.

In July 2016, he started working with the Network18 Media & Investments Limited in Noida as a Deputy Executive Editor and served the position until May 2018.

He is married to Palki S Upadhyay, a senior Indian journalist and news anchor. They have two children together.

Sanket Upadhyay's Career

Sanket Upadhyay, a proficient journalist in both English and Hindi, began his television career with NDTV in 2005. Starting on the city desk, he quickly rose to the position of Lucknow bureau head for NDTV’s English channel, all at the tender age of 23.

After a stint at ‘Times Now’ in Delhi, where he covered a range of events from natural disasters to elections and occasionally anchored the show ‘NewsHour’, Upadhyay joined the ‘India Today’ group. Here, he demonstrated his versatility by juggling roles in reporting, anchoring, and managing key responsibilities as an output in-charge.

In 2016, he moved to ‘CNN News 18’ as Deputy Executive Editor, managing daily operations and hosting the channel’s evening prime time show.

Upadhyay returned to NDTV in 2019, becoming a familiar face on both NDTV 24X7 and NDTV India channels. He anchors the prime time show ‘Khabaron Ki Khabar’ on NDTV India at 9 pm and hosts the long-standing Hindi debate show ‘Muqabala’ and the English debate show ‘The Big Fight’.
