On August 11, a tragic incident unfolded in Assam when an alleged suicide involving a BJP secretary, Kisan Morcha, was reported. The person, identified as Indrani Tahbildar, reportedly took her own life after a photo of her with a BJP member Kisan Morcha from Golaghat district went viral on social media.

According to media reports, the distressing photo circulating on social media caused Indrani's drastic step. Reports indicate that she ingested a drug overdose around 5:30 am on August 11, resulting in her unfortunate death. Intimate photographs of her with a senior BJP leader surfaced online.

The distressing images went viral on social media platforms, exposing Tahbildar's intimate moment with the high-ranking BJP figure. People believe that the widespread circulation of these photos significantly pushed her towards this tragic step.

Who was BJP leader Indrani Tahbildar?

 Indrani Tahbildar, a prominent member of the state BJP. She held the Chamber of Commerce’s vice president position and she was also treasured of the Kisan Morcha.

The police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating the matter. The person or persons who leaked the photos are also being traced by them. Her body has been sent to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for postmortem by the police.

Speaking to IANS, DCP of central Guwahati Dipak Choudhury said:“ The police are investigating the incident. It was considered an unnatural death and a probe has been launched. However, until now, we have not received any such complaints regarding the leaking of intimate pictures of the deceased with another person. But we are looking into every angle.”
