Two priests from Ujjain’s famous Mahakal temple demanded on Saturday that online food delivery company Zomato remove an advertisement featuring Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan as it offends Hindu sentiments.
In the ad, Roshan says that he was looking forward to having a “thali” (meal dish) in Ujjain, so he ordered from “Mahakal”.

The Mahakaleshwar or Mahakal Shiva temple in Ujjain is one of the twelve ‘Jyotirlingas’ that attract devotees from all over the country.
The temple priests, Mahesh and Ashish, said Zomato should immediately remove the ad and issue an apology.
Devotees are served prasad in a thali and the announcement hurts the feelings of Hindus, they said.
They also approached Ujjain District Collector Ashish Singh, chairman of the Mahakal Temple Trust, and sought action against the company so that no one mocks the Hindu religion again, the priests said.
