The 17-year-old girl had eloped with her boyfriend from Beawar in Ajmer district and arrived in Jodhpur on Saturday night. They were looking for a place to stay when the trio befriended them and offered them food and drinks, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Amrita Duhan.

The police captured the accused within two hours of the crime. Dharmpal Singh, Samandar Singh Bhati, and Bhattam Singh, aged between 20 and 22, were identified. Police said the accused were campaigning for a student leader who wanted an ABVP ticket for the university's student union elections.
The police acted quickly and tracked the accused to a house in Ganeshpura, near Ratanada, in Jodhpur.
They tried to escape but were injured after falling. Two of them broke their legs and one injured his hand, Duhan said. “We treat them and we arrest them,” she said.
