Love story of Indian woman Anju and Pakistani man Nasrullah

In a surprising twist of fate, a woman named Anju, who had legally travelled from India to a remote village in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, converted to Islam and married her Pakistani love interest, Nasrullah.

Now going by the name Fatima, they formalized their union through a nikah ceremony at the Upper Dir district courts. The couple's joyous moments, exploring mountainous landscapes hand-in-hand, were captured in a video that has since gone viral on social media.

From Rajasthan to Pakistan

Anju's journey from Rajasthan to Pakistan unfolded on Thursday when she left her home in Bhiwadi, supposedly for a trip to Jaipur. Instead, she traveled to Pakistan to meet her 29-year-old Facebook friend, Nasrullah. Their friendship had developed over the past few months through interactions on the social media platform, as reported by ARY News.

Upon her arrival in Pakistan, Anju faced initial police custody. However, after verifying her travel documents and finding them to be in order, she was subsequently released. Authorities provided her and Nasrullah with security to ensure their safety and prevent any untoward incidents that could reflect negatively on the country, according to news agency PTI.

According to Upper Dir District Police Officer (DPO) Mushtaq Khan, Anju came to Pakistan from India in search of love and she is reportedly living happily in her new home.

She is on a one-month visa and plans to return to India on August 21, a senior Pakistani police official has confirmed. Anju's visit was authorized specifically for her trip to Upper Dir, with an official letter from the Home Ministry to the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.

Anju's Pakistani marriage surprises all

Surprisingly, Anju's situation bears similarities to that of Seema Ghulam Haider, a Pakistani woman who entered India illegally to be with her Indian partner Sachin Meena, whom she met while playing PUBG. Seema's case attracted attention and she now lives with Sachin in India.

During the wedding process, Anju and Nasrullah appeared before the Dir Bala District Court, where Nasrullah's relatives, police personnel and lawyers witnessed the event. Due to security concerns, Anju was escorted to the house of her new in-laws under police protection.

Interestingly, the turn of events occurred just one day after Anju (now Fatima) initially declared that she had no intention of marrying Nasrullah and planned to return to India when her visa expired on August 20. Nasrullah also denied any romantic relationship with Anju when he spoke to the PTI news agency earlier.

Who is Anju?

Anju, a married Indian woman aged 34, has gained attention after her visit to the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan to meet her friend Nasrulla. The friendship between Anju and Nasrulla blossomed on Facebook and eventually turned into a romantic relationship.

We will now explore the identity of Anju and the situation that led to her journey. Anju hails from Kailor village, Uttar Pradesh and currently resides in the Alwar district of Rajasthan.

She recently traveled to the Upper Dir district of Pakistan to meet her friend Nasrulla, who is 29 years old and works in the medical field. Their friendship began a few months back on the social media platform Facebook and has flourished ever since.

Anju's father, Gaya Prasad Thomas, spoke to reporters in Bouna village near Tekanpur town, Gwalior district. He revealed that he learned about Anju's presence in Pakistan only recently when his son informed him.

Thomas clarified that he had lost contact with Anju for almost 20 years after she got married and moved to Bhiwadi, Rajasthan. He added that he stays in Madhya Pradesh as his house remains vacant, occasionally visiting from his settled location in Faridabad, Haryana.

According to Thomas, Anju had been living with her maternal uncle in Jalaun district, Uttar Pradesh, since she was three years old and got married while residing there. He expressed concern over her unexpected journey to Pakistan without informing anyone, emphasizing that she has two children who are with their father.
