The Modi government in the Center has reacted strongly to the report that India is ranked 107th in the Global Hunger Index (GHI). The government has issued a statement on the GHI and has said that this index is an 'incorrect way of measuring hunger, calling it a bad image of India.

The Global Hunger Index report has been released showing the state of hunger and malnutrition around the world, with India ranking 107th out of 121 countries. India's position in this index is worse than that of Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh.

Sri Lanka has the best position in South Asia in this index. Sri Lanka, facing economic problems, ranks 64th in this index.

After placing India at position 107 in this index, the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India has issued a statement.

The ministry said in a statement, "India's continuing tarnishing of the image has once again shown that as a nation it cannot meet the food security and nutritional needs of its population. The Global Hunger Index report is misinformation. The Global Hunger Index 2022 released by Concern World Wide and Welt Hunger Hilfe, a non-governmental organization of Ireland and Germany, has placed India at 107th position out of 121 countries.

India said, "This index is an incorrect method of measuring hunger and suffers from serious issues of measurement methodology. Three of the four methods of measuring the index relate only to the health of children and may not represent the entire population." Huh."

The ranking of the Global Hunger Index is given on the total score. This score is measured specifically on the values ​​of four indicators, including undernutrition, severe infant malnutrition, stunted growth and child mortality.

India has responded to this report by saying, "The ratio of malnutrition to the total population (PoU) is the fourth and most important measure of this index, but that too is based on an opinion poll, with a small sample size of 3000. has been taken."
