After a long wait, WhatsApp has now launched WhatsApp Pay in India. WhatsApp announced this by tweeting, the company wrote, WhatsApp announced via a tweet - "From today, people across India will be able to send money through WhatsApp Pay. This secure payment experience makes sending money as easy as sending a message."

Facebook and WhatsApp were waiting for the necessary approvals to make the payment service live in India and finally it has been launched in India, so if you want to start using WhatsApp Pay then here is all the information you need It may be used.

What is WhatsApp pay?

WhatsApp Pay is a UPI-based payment service launched in India in beta mode in February last year. It is now live and everyone can use it.

With WhatsApp Pay users can link their UPI-enabled bank accounts and transfer money through the messaging app.

WhatsApp supports all popular banks like HDFC, ICICI, State Bank of India, Axis Bank and even Airtel Payments Bank.

How to setup WhatsApp pay?

Using WhatsApp Pay to send money is as simple as sending photos and videos on the app.

You can send money directly to the chat by tapping on the share file icon in the chat bar and selecting 'Payment'.

A dedicated section called 'Payments' is available inside the shortcut menu.

What are the ways of transacting on WhatsApp pay?

During the initial phase, WhatsApp Pay allowed users to send money only to their contacts after which it enabled the UPI ID. WhatsApp Pay users could then send money by entering the UPI ID.

Later in March WhatsApp also introduced the QR code for its payment service. Each WhatsApp Pay user has a unique QR code that users can scan and send money.
