Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti has been released by the administration after 14 months. Jammu and Kashmir administration spokesman Rohit Kansal said that the PDP president is being released from custody.

While I have been released today, I want all the people of Jammu and Kashmir who are lodged in different jails of the country to be released as soon as possible. “
Earlier, upon receiving the news of Mehbooba’s release, her daughter Iltija tweeted, “Now the Mufti’s unlawful detention is finally over. Thank you to the people who supported me in this difficult time. I owe many people. “
Mehbooba’s daughter Iltija Mufti filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the arrest of her mother.In the Supreme Court hearing on September 29, the court had asked Solicitor General Tushar Mehta under which order and for how long the central government wanted to keep Mehbooba Mufti in custody. Asked to file a reply on the petition of Mufti in a week.
At that time, Mehta had asked for some time before the Supreme Court and said that the central government would file an answer in these cases in the court within a week. Later, the Supreme Court postponed the hearing till 15 October. The government released Mehbooba even before the appearance in the Supreme Court.
