Ground Report | New Delhi: How to download Truth social Trump; Former President of US Donald Trump's new social media venture, launched his social media app “Truth Social” after he was banned from Twitter along with Facebook and Youtube.
Why is Truth Social launched?
Trump announced plans to launch the new app in 2021 after he was banned from all social media platforms. He said the Truth Social will “stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech.” The platform is owned by Trump Media and Technology Group. The plan comes to enforce when Trump has filed lawsuits against Facebook, Twitter and Youtube for suspending his account since last January.
The Suspension is done because his followers violently stormed the capital building and tech companies were concerned that Trump would promote further violence on social media. Before the ban, Trump had 88 million followers on Twitter. The former President said "We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favourite American president has been silenced" at that time. The app was launched via Apple's App Store on Monday, February 21, 2022.
How to Download and What is Truth Social?
The app may be available for download on the App Store, the service still appears to be limited. Although it's not yet available via Google Play Store, the official website notes the app is coming soon.
It is similar to Twitter but instead of using “tweets” it uses “truth”. Sign up in the app, join the conversation, and share your unique opinion by posting a Truth, Re-Truth, photo, news story, or video link to communicate with your friends, customers, and the world. Stay informed about breaking news while staying directly connected with the people who influence you – don't be shocked if they take your Truth viral! CEO Devin Nunes of Truth social and a member of the former Republic party, told Fox News that the app would be available to more people in the Apple App Store. It will be made fully functional by the end of March at least within the United States.
Features of Truth Social

TruthFeed - Get the feed on the latest thoughts and activities from the people, organizations, and news outlets that interest you. It contains posts from all those you follow, like.
Search - Truth Social really starts to become interesting as you connect with others. Search for a voice that you find interesting and easily follow them right from the search list or view their profile first before deciding.
Notifications - Stay engaged as you build a following. See who's following you and who's interacting with your Truth. Like all the other apps have.
Day after launch many users reported that they are having trouble registering for an account or were added to a waitlist with a message. Some are already struggling to sign up for the app, however, placing many prospective users on extended "waitlists" to limit the number of users signing up on its first day, while others are unable to complete the two-factor authentication needed to confirm their profiles.
The app requires an active phone number or email to verify your sign up. However, the versions have been regularly updated since October. Bug fixes 1.0.1 version is updated on February 21, 2022.
