Twitter's new owner Elon Musk has said he isn't too worried about the social media giant's future as the best people stay, after hundreds of employees appeared to have left the company after he told them to. He set a deadline to commit to what he has dubbed "hardcore Twitter 2.0" or quit.

Mass resignation

The owner of the social network sent an email to the staff, published by various specialized media, in which he announced that to create Twitter 2.0 it will be necessary to “work many hours at a high intensity” and that only those who offer “exceptional performance” They will make the cut.

“If you are sure that you want to be part of the new Twitter, please click yes on the link below,” says the message, which adds a link to a form that each employee can fill out. “Anyone who has not done so by 5 pm ET tomorrow (Thursday) will receive three months’ compensation,” adds Musk, giving a deadline of 5:00 p.m. Thursday, New York time (22:00 GMT).

“It feels like all the people who made this place amazing are leaving. It will be extremely difficult for Twitter to recover from here, no matter how ‘tough’ the people who remain try to be, ”assures a now former worker to the US portal.

“ I have worked here at Twitter for over 11 years. In July, I was the 27th longest-serving employee at the company. Now I am the 15th ″, adds another, who had to accept Musk’s measures.

Employees were previously told they could sign up for Twitter’s “excitement ride” or take severance pay and “transition away” from the company.
