Footage of the incident is also circulating on social media, which could not be confirmed by independent and unbiased sources, but the affected woman can be seen in the footage. In the video clip, the victim's face is inked and her hair has been cut.

The woman, 20, was allegedly abducted and raped by a group of men in a revenge attack. The victim's head was shaved, her face blackened, and a garland of shoes put around her neck as she was hit and paraded through the streets in East Delhi. Video of that part of the abuse went viral, causing widespread outrage.

Viral video footage showed the woman being pushed and humiliated by several women on the streets of New Delhi and many passersby did not see her. They were not only expressing happiness but were also making videos of the incident from their mobile phones.

11 arrested

New Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police R Satyasanram said the incident took place on Wednesday, January 26, due to enmity between some neighbours in the Shahdara area of ​​East Delhi.

"11 suspects, including several women and two teenagers, have been arrested," R Satyasanram said. All of them belong to the same family and it can be seen in the video footage that the perpetrators of this incident were women.

The 21-year-old victim told police that she was first abducted by family members who committed the crime, then raped by several men and underage boys, while the women of the family instigated the men. According to the woman, she was later beaten up with sticks and then thrown on the streets of New Delhi.

Baswal, Additional Commissioner of Delhi Police, said, "We are reviewing the video of the incident and identifying the culprits." We hope to arrest more suspects soon. ,

Suicide link

Earlier, the police had said that preliminary investigation indicated that the woman and a boy belonging to the family of the accused were friends.

The boy committed suicide in November last year and his family blamed the victim (woman) for it. The family alleged that the boy took this step because of her. To take revenge on him, the family members allegedly kidnapped her. They wanted to teach her a lesson.'

In her complaint to the police, the woman has alleged that she was abducted by family members living near her mother's house. They took her to their house where they allegedly assaulted her. In addition, they cut her hair and forcibly made her wear a garland of chappals. An officer said that they then publicly humiliated him by a parade.
