Ground Report | New Delhi: Will the farmers' organizations end; For the last one year, a common platform of many farmer organizations under the banner of United Kisan Morcha will take a decision today to end the farmers' movement.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has sent a proposal to the farmers' organizations, stating that their pending demands have been resolved. According to the newspaper report, the United Kisan Morcha wants clarification on some issues, including the withdrawal of 'fake' cases against the protesters, The Hindu reported.

A meeting of farmers' organizations was held on Tuesday on the Singhu border regarding the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs. In this meeting, it has been decided to hold the meeting again at 2 pm on Wednesday, and in this meeting, the final decision will be taken on ending the agitation.

Farmer organizations need clarification in some cases on the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs. These include withdrawal of 'fake' cases against protesting farmers and setting up of a committee to discuss Minimum Support Price (MSP).

According to the report of The Hindu, some farmers say that they are ready to end the agitation if the language of the proposal of the Home Ministry is corrected. Rakesh Tikait of Bharatiya Kisan Union said that the government should sit in front of farmer leaders for talks.

In Uttar Pradesh, the campaign of all political parties has started regarding the assembly elections, in such a situation it is a challenge for the government to stick to the farmers' movement and the issues related to them.

The newspaper has written in its report that giving legal cover to the MSP guarantee is still a big issue for the supporters of Tikait. The existing MSAP system is not effective in other parts of the country like Haryana and Punjab. On the other hand, the Ministry of Home Affairs has said in its proposal to form a committee only regarding MSP guarantee and people of United Kisan Morcha can also be included in this committee. Other issues will also be discussed with the MSP in this committee.

All India Kisan Sabha leader Ashok Dhawale from the newspaper said, "The option is open in the proposal to constitute the committee that the so-called farmers' organizations which supported the three controversial agricultural laws and were with the World Trade Organization instead of MSP." He said that the committee should be such in which MSP is an important issue and we should be heard in it.

There is a difference of opinion among the farmers' organizations regarding one more thing in the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Especially the farmer leaders of Punjab want clarification from the government on this. The government is ready to withdraw the case against the farmers against whom the case is registered, but with conditions. These include cases when there was a lot of ruckus and controversy in Delhi during the tractor rally of farmers on the occasion of Republic Day last year.

The demand of the farmers is that as soon as the agitation ends, the cases against the farmers should be withdrawn. These cases are of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Delhi Police. Balbir Singh Rajewal, leader of Bharatiya Kisan Union in Punjab said, "The movement will end only when the cases come back and there should be no condition."

Haryana farmer leader Gurunam Singh Chaduni, who led the second faction of BKU, said that the cases registered against the farmers should be returned within the time limit and financial compensation should also be given to the families of the agitating farmers. Gurunam Singh said that all states should give compensation on the lines of Punjab. Punjab has given a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased farmers.
