'Will only hoist tricolor if flag of J&K reinstated': Mehbooba Mufti

Former chief minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president, Mehbooba Mufti today lashed out at the Centre over the abrogation of Article 370 saying that 'they have no powers to take away the special status' of J&K.

Addressing a press conference Mehbooba Mufti said that "I am not interested in contesting any election till he (the central government) returns our rights (370)".They say you can buy land in J&K, we've abrogated Article 370. Then they said they will give free vaccines. Today PM Modi had to speak of Article 370 for votes. This government has failed to solve the issues of this nation,” she said.

My struggle will not end until restores 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. My struggle will be to solve the Kashmir problem. Mehbooba said that the BJP created such an environment around the Babri Masjid as if it never existed. 

Mehbooba Mufti alleged that the BJP and the Center have no real issue or work to show, so they are talking such things in speeches.

She said, 'They have nothing to show for seeking votes. They say that now you can buy land in Jammu and Kashmir, we have removed article 370. Then they say that they will distribute the vaccine for free. Today PM Modi had to talk about article 370 for votes. This government has completely failed to solve the country's problems.

The PDP leader also attacked the central government on the assumption that India's GDP growth will be less than Bangladesh.

She said, "When it comes to the issue of economy, we are also behind Bangladesh. Whether unemployment or any other issue, this government has failed on every front. When they fail everywhere, they miss Kashmir and Article 370.

Mehbooba added that “those who think we will forget Article 370 are living in fool’s paradise. People have given a lot of sacrifices and we won’t allow the sacrifices to go waste.”

She added that she will be the first person among the leaders to give her blood for this cause in case the need arises. “We (Leaders) are united and people should also fight it in unison. It is not the fight of Dr Farooq, Sajad Lone or any other leader. But of one and all,” she added.

“Since Article 370 was abrogated, the government left no stone unturned to hurt the sentiments of people by taking all the anti-people decisions. They don’t want people of Jammu and Kashmir. People of JK are expendable for them,” she added.

China speaks of Article 370 too'

Mehbooba further said she won’t take part in elections without the constitution and flag of the erstwhile state of J&K.

Parroting National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah’s views on China, Mufti said that Beijing speaks of Article 370 too, calling it disputed and asking why it was made UT?

J&K came into international view like never before after abrogation, she added.

On China alleged encroachment of the Indian territory the PDP supremo said it's a fact that China captured 1000 sq km of our land and somehow India managed to get back around 40 km.
