Ground Report | New Delhi: Save Lakshadweep Trending: The administrator of the Union Territory of Lakshadweep, alleged that there was widespread opposition among the people due to his anti-people policies. The situation has taken such a serious turn that #SaveLakshadweep hit Twitter's 'Top Trend' on the morning of May 24.
CPM Rajya Sabha MP Elamaram Kareem demanded in a letter that the Lakshadweep administrators be immediately investigated. Because they are compensating the common people for their wrong policy Norm al public life is being disrupted. He said in the letter that many existing laws are being unilaterally amended and new laws are being drafted without consultation with the people or their elected representatives.

Kareem shared a copy of the letter on his Facebook page on Sunday Night. In the letter, the Left MP mentioned that the lion's share of the total population in Lakshadweep is Muslim. The letter further states that under the new administrator, hundreds of casual and contract labourers working under various departments have lost their jobs.
The MP wrote to President Ramnath Kovind, "On December 5, 2020, you appointed Praful Patel as the administrator. The situation began to change as soon as he came to power. The central government is taking decisions that disrupt normal public life in the region. The common people there are in danger today for the wrong decisions of the administration. The killer virus is growing at an unbridled rate. Where the coronavirus failed to erupt in 2020, extinction is now a big question mark against human life.
